A (self-critical) note on how this project was made.

CLIMATE GOALS is a project about limits. So it felt wrong to ignore the limits of making it.

The illustrations and texts on this site were created with the help of AI. That comes with its own environmental cost — energy use, water consumption, resource demands that are real and not yet fully understood. We are aware of the contradiction. A project about planetary boundaries, made with a tool that strains them.

We chose transparency over pretending otherwise. The same honest accounting that The Limits to Growth asked of the world in 1972 — we are asking of ourselves here. Not perfectly. But consciously.

For the same reason, the fan shop exists as a digital object rather than a physical one. No production runs. No shipping. No warehouse full of things the planet didn't need. The most sustainable product is the one that was never manufactured.

This project will keep asking itself these questions until 2030. That feels like the only honest way to play.
